A reclining black mulberry near the entrance off North End Way. On the site of the former Victorian Mansion House, once a popular restaurant until it was destroyed by a fire bomb in WW2. The trunk has entirely collapsed, but the branches are growing up to a height of about 15 feet from the fallen stems. It produces fruit, but the birds take most of it. Although appearing neglected, in a space between a disabled carpark and the path, it is looked after by Park foresters who prune it if needed. The park is open dawn till dusk. There is another young black mulberry in the orchard area of the park and there are 2 white mulberries. The most mature is semi-recumbent and produces white fruit, the other one is about 10 years old and in 2021 was showing signs of stress or disease.
