When I was a child in the 1940's there was a mulberry tree in the grounds of the Rectory. Since then the building has been turned into apartments. Whether such trees are long-lived enough to have survived all this time I don't know. The building was Georgian I believe so it could have been there for many years before I saw it. I do not know if the site is accessible as I now live some distance away. I hope this is of interest as it shows that a member of the clergy was interested in having a mulberry tree and you will notice from the map the nearby Mulberry Walk. I think I can remember a line of the trees there. Dorothy A - Update: a new development on the site so can't be accessed. The mulberry tree may still be there
