Near to a young Morus alba pendula weeping white mulberry, by Chester Rd entrance. Half- hidden in the bushes bordering the N side of Rose Garden. Quite hard to find, but is a large, reclining,, veteran tree, with branches forming new stems. Has a large canopy and plenty of fruit, though ripens later than the other mulberries in the Park, as it is not well exposed. On the site of the former Royal Botanic Society Gardens set out in 1840. This tree appears on the 1892-1914 25" OS map. The main stem was measured as 114.3 cm in 1920 by Webster (London Trees} [PC]
